A Matric plus a Bachelor’s Degree/Diploma in IT. Have A+ and N+ Certificate and must be ITIL Certified (Minimum Foundation Level). MCP/MCDST will be preferable. 3-4 years’ experience as an IT Desktop Technician. Strong knowledge of iPads &iPhones, local and network printing, 3G services, mail for exchange, video conferencing, active directory, Windows 7&10 and Microsoft Office Suite applications. Good communication, negotiation, customer relationship, and problem-solving skills essential.
Performs hands-on fixes at the desktop level, installs and upgrades software, installs hardware, implements file backups and configures systems and applications. Performs preventative maintenance, checks and cleans of workstations, printers and peripherals. Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems. To provide telephony support services including support of departmental mobile phones. Coordinate the repairing and replacing of hardware equipment. Assists in coordinating special projects including network related wiring plans and system installation, backup, maintenance and problem solving. Assist and provide support on WAN/LAN, and other technology staff as requested including performing scheduled network tasks, updating anti-virus definition files, monitoring network servers, and providing internet and intranet user support. Produce statistics and management reports relating to the Regional office. Take ownership of user problems and follow up the status of problems on behalf of the user and communicate progress in a timely manner. Provide basic training in MS Office applications used within the organisation.
