Job Advert Summary
Pick n Pay has an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Product Developer at our offices in Kenilworth, Cape Town. This opportunity will expose you to development of new and innovative products for Pick n Pay branded offering, as well as improve the innovation in the category that will drive the sales, increase market share thus positioning the company as the leader in the industry.

Minimum Requirements
• Relevant Degree/Diploma preferably specialising in Culinary or Food Business
• Working knowledge of MS Office

Duties & Responsibilities
• Develop and implement effectively the Innovation Agenda for the product range
• Identify suitable products or variations and raw materials for new and improved products to ensure ingredient requirements are adhered to
• Make recommendations for new and improved packaging specification to ensure reduction of costs and improved functionality
• Ensure that each new product and process undergoes a comprehensive and documented evaluation for potential food safety risks
• Monitor the performance of new and improved products in order to take the appropriate action for non-performers
• Conduct technical strategy review with supplier to recommend actions that promotes product development growth
• Seek advice from specialists where appropriate to ensure legal compliance and safety of technical strategy
• Monitor, evaluate and provide evidence of contribution to improved customer satisfaction and increased profitability of products/range
• Communicate regularly with suppliers to mutually share financial and other performance criteria; use metrics to identify performance gaps and hold suppliers accountable for achieving financial and other mutually agreed goals; develop and implements contingency plans to close performance gaps
• Develop a technical policy for own area of responsibility and communicate to the relevant stakeholders to ensure adherence
