Duties/Pligte
Administratiewe bystand met die indien van navorsingsuitsette vir subsidiedoeleindes aan die DHOO, bystand met die ontwikkeling, implementering en instandhouding van `n nuwe elektroniese stelsel vir die indien van navorsingsuitsette aan die DHOO, asook gepaardgaande dataverwerking en rapportering van navorsingsverwante inligting binne die Afdeling Navorsingsontwikkeling aan die Universiteit Stellenbosch.
  • Verleen administratiewe hulp met die interne prosesse rondom die indien van navorsingsuitsette aan die DHOO, insluitend liassering van joernaal-artikels, bystand met die reël van interne evalueringspanele, opvolg van uitstaande dokumentasie, en voorbereidings vir die interne outditproses;
  • Verleen administratiewe hulp met die interne prosesse rondom die indien van kreatiewe uitsette aan die DHOO, insluitend die eweknie-beoordelingsproses, skakeling met die kreatiewe uitsette komitee en voorbereiding en indiening van dokumentasie aan die DHOO;
  • Lewer insette ten opsigte van die implementering van `n nuwe elektroniese inligtingsbestuurstelsel vir navorsingsuitsette aan die US, insluitend konfigurasies en opstellings;
  • Hulpverlening met stelselopleiding aan gebruikers, soos nodig;
  • Toepaslike gebruiksanalises en verslagdoening rakende navorsingsinligting aan die US;
  • Die byhou en verwerking van geselekteerde navorsingsverwante bestuursinligting binne die Afdeling Navorsingsontwikkeling;
  • Verleen bystand met die insameling en voorbereiding van navorsingsinligting vir die jaarlikse navorsingsuitset-opname , asook vir spesifieke versoeke in terme van landskapsanalises;
  • Die opstel van navorsingsinligtingspakkette aan departementele voorsitters;
  • Die byhou van navorsingsverwante feite en statistieke vir brosjures en inligtingstukke;
  • Verleen bystand met die insameling van inligting vir die jaarlikse navorsingsverslag-publikasie.

Administrative assistance with the submission of research outputs for subsidy purposes to the DHET, assistance with the development, implementation and maintenance of a new electronic system for the submission of research outputs to the DHET, as well as related data analyses and reporting of research-related information within the Division for Research Development at Stellenbosch University.

  • Lending administrative assistance with the internal processes with regards to the submission of research outputs to the DHET, including filing of journal articles, assisting with the logistics of the internal evaluation panels, following up with outstanding documentation and making preparations for the internal audit process;
  • Lending administrative assistance with the internal processes with regards to the submission of creative outputs to the DHET, including the peer review process, liaising with the creative outputs committee and preparing and submitting documentation to the DHET;
  • Providing input with regards to the implementation of a new electronic information management system for research outputs at SU, including configurations and setups;
  • Assisting with system training to users, as required;
  • Appropriate user analyses and reporting regarding research information at SU;
  • Keeping track of and analysing selected research related management information within the Division for Research Development;
  • Lending assistance with the collection and preparation of research information for the annual research output survey, as well as specific requests in terms of landscape analyses;
  • Compiling research information packs to departmental chairs;
  • Updating research related facts and statistics for brochures and information sheets;
  • Lending assistance with the collection of information for the annual research report publication.

Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes
  • `n Toepaslike –B Graad;
  • Ervaring van navorsingsinligtingbestuurstelsels, verkieslik ter ondersteuning van navorsing aan (`n) hoër onderwys instelling(s);
  • Vermoë om dataverwerkings en analises met betrekking tot navorsingsinligting effektief te hanteer;
  • Hoëvlak-rekenaarvaardigheid ten opsigte van die Microsoft Office pakket (Word, Excel, PowerPoint en Outlook), Internet soektogte, ens.;
  • Uitstekende interpersoonlike vaardighede;
  • Vermoë om effektief binne spanverband te funksioneer;
  • Uitstekende  kommunikasievaardighede;
  • Uitstekende organisatoriese vermoëns;
  • Noukeurigheid en sin vir verantwoordelikheid.

  • A relevant B Degree;
  • Experience with research information management systems, preferably in support of research at (a) higher education institution(s);
  • Ability to effectively handle data processing and analyses with regards to research to research information;
  • High-level computer proficiency with regard to the Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), Internet searches, etc.;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to function effectively within a team;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent organisational ability;
  • Accuracy and sense of responsibility.

  • `n Toepaslike nagraadse kwalifikasie;
  • Kennis van die hoër onderwysstelsel in Suid-Afrika;
  • Ervaring in navorsingsadministrasie aan `n hoër onderwys instelling;
  • Kennis van die indieningsproses vir navorsingsuitsette vir subsidie-doeleindes aan die DHOO;
  • Kennis van die US se navorsingsinligting bestuursprosesse;
  • Kennis van MS Excel en/of ander gepaste statistiese ontledingsagteware;
  • Wetenskapskommunikasie vaardighede.

  • A relevant postgraduate qualification;
  • Knowledge of the higher education system in South Africa;
  • Experience in research administration at a higher education institution;
  • Knowledge of the submission process of research outputs for subsidy purposes to the DHET;
  • Knowledge of SU`s research information management processes;
  • Knowledge of MS Excel and/or other relevant statistical analysis software;
  • Science communication skills.
