The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) is a statutory body, established in 1998, in terms of the Housing Consumers Protection Measures Act, 1998 (Act No. 95 of 1998). It is mandated to protect the interests of housing consumers and to regulate the home building industry.


Directly reporting to the Supervisor: Accounts Payable, the Financial Administrator: Creditors is responsible for performing the accounts payable function, inclusive of processing invoices, reconciliations of accounts, processing of payments and query resolutions.


  • Obtain invoices from the Supplier and travel desk;
  • Sort and distribute invoices to Business Units;
  • Sort the documentation upon receipt and confirm their completeness;
  • Follow up PO’s and Receipts from Business Units;
  • Manual checking of invoices against Purchase Orders and Receipts;
  • Accurately capture invoices on ERP system;
  • Ensure all invoices are authorized;
  • Process monthly expenses on time;
  • Ensure all invoices are VAT compliance;
  • Cancelling and un-matching of invoices with shortfalls;
  • Returning invoices with shortfalls back to Business Units to raise Requisitions for the shortfalls;
  • Follow up with Business Units with regards to the progress of shortfall invoices;
  • Payments of matched invoices on ERP;
  • Payment of Suppliers on FNB Online;
  • Clearance of manual payments;
  • Sending Remittance Advices to Suppliers after completion of the payment run;
  • Follow up with internal stakeholders to ensure that no penalties and interest are incurred for late payment;
  • Obtain monthly statements from the suppliers;
  • Accurately prepare monthly reconciliations of Creditors Accounts Statements against the A/P Age Analysis;
  • Monitor long outstanding invoices/reconciling items on the Supplier’s Reconciliation;
  • Investigate and follow up all outstanding invoices;
  • Create files for new Suppliers;
  • File Payment documents alphabetically on a weekly basis;
  • Archiving documents on time after the Audit;
  • Scan invoices daily on ERP system;
  • Batching of documents;
  • Ensure all documentation is scanned and linked for records;
  • Process all documentation according to company policies and procedures as well as document control principles, within specified set time frames to ensure compliance;
  • Manage the filing, storage and security of documents;
  • Handling of accounts related queries from supplier and Provinces;
  • Attend to internal queries;
  • Ensure that business units comply with finance policies and procedures;
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders;
  • Provide team members and business units and external stakeholders with assistance as and when required and within own area of competence to assist in the achievement of team objectives;
  • Maintain internal and external relations, including interface with external providers responsible to ensure organisational needs are met;
  • Ensure compliance with the PFMA, GAAP, Treasury Regulations and all relevant regulations within area of responsibility;
  • Comply with all approved policies and procedures;
  • Report all financial irregularities;
  • Ensure no recurring audit findings;
  • Prepare documents (PO, invoices, reconciliations, remittance advice) as requested during audits;
  • Ensure that no penalties and interest are incurred for late payment;
  • Attendance to development workshops and interventions as per agreed Individual Development Plan (IDP);
  • Timeous submission of performance agreements and reviews.


  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma/ Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum of Three (3) – Five (5) years in financial Administration
