Airfreight Import Experience (minimum 3 years)

Cargowise understanding and previous experience would be beneficial

Excel / Word intermediate knowledge

Strong Outlook understanding and competency

Job Related Requirements

General understanding of the industry and related job requirements for freight forwarding.

Ability to manage clients, meet with them, discuss challenges on shipments and handle any client correspondence both telephonically, on email and in person.

Liaising and pro-actively communicating with clients throughout the process.

Ability to escalate where required to the relevant parties, and maintaining a good working relationship with all various teams and departments.

Minimum 3 years in the industry;

Pro-actively communicating and resolving queries or delays for clients
Managing clients KPIs / performance on a monthly basis and productivity of own desk
Making special arrangements / involving the right level of individual to support on critical shipments.
Support in after hour monitoring and tracking and tracing with carriers, arranging specials on weekends or facilitating communication and feedback on weekends.
Resolving client and routine queries professionally and timorously
Managing costs effectively and carefully.
Supporting on invoicing for imports, and guiding invoicing controllers and managing rates etc.
Tracking shipments from collection to collection and arrival
Involvement with Implementation of new accounts that fall under your specifications area of work
Overtime where applicable
Manager Negative WIPS/ open accurals / open negative accruals
Excellent administrative skills
Able to work without constant supervision
Able to work well under pressure

Good communication skills, both verbally and written.

Understanding of profit and loss revenue or losses on shipment basis.

Ownership and self motivation, to ensure any challenge is addressed immediately and resolved as soon as possible.

Having an all round understanding of the airfreight function to ensure solutions can be provided to the client.

Min 3 year experience in freight forwarding.
Must have knowledge of import air process
Person must be organized and be able to manage a desk

Main purpose of this role

To provide an import airfreight service to our clients within the general vertical, keeping all customer up to date on the movement of their cargo at all times.

Main Resposibilities

Completion of relevant shipping documents as prescribed by local &

international authorities

Ensure company performance objectives are achieved
Co-ordinate the movement of cargo on behalf of clients
Follow operational systems and procedures
Develop and maintain working relationships, networks and partnerships

that help achieve business goals

Effectively apply verbal, non-verbal and written communication methods

to achieve desired results from internal / external clients and colleagues

on issues, changes and shipment status in line with client / Customs SOP’s

Control expenses by actively monitoring waste within your control.
Ensure best control of costs and transit at all times on all routes
Problem solving skills: must be able to work with other colleagues,

departments, 3rd party suppliers and clients in a proactive and professional manner

Provide positive solutions to all problematic situations
Find innovative ways of reducing errors and omissions
Understand and exceed client’s expectations and requirements
Provide innovative, effective solutions to client’s needs
Ability to foresee problems arising and provide alternatives and solutions proactively
Accountable for timeous resolution of outstanding debtors queries,
foreign debtors queries, creditors reconciliation queries and foreign
account queries under your control
Accountable for on time billing to clients
Team player: provide full support to the team and manager
