ICT Technician

The ICT Technician will be responsible for the day to day Operational Support & Maintenance of all systems in the Cinema Complex of an IT & Technical nature. This includes general Computer Systems, Network Systems, Projection Systems & Sound Systems. Due to the business of Ster-Kinekor, certain mechanical aspects of Popcorn Machines & Warmers will also be the responsibility of the ICT Technician.



A+ or N+ or relevant IT Diploma/Degree or Technical/Electronic/Sound Certification/Qualification or Proficiency in Cinema Support



MS Office Suite

Christie D-Cinema Projectors

NEC D-Cinema Projectors

Working Experience

Minimum of two years’ experience in a Projection, Technical or IT role



Support, Maintenance & Servicing

Responsible for a single Cinema Complex
Support & Maintenance of all IT, Projection, Sound, Automation, Digital Signage & Popcorn Equipment in the Cinema Complex
Service VPF equipment as per VPF agreement & service schedule
Technical Assistance for Special Events, Premieres & Alternative Content (Satellite Broadcasts, Streaming Events & Video Conferencing)

Budget, Auditing & Reporting

Lamp & Filter Maintenance, including Lamp Budget & Stock Levels in the Cinema Complex
Assist Internal Audits Department with Quarterly Technical Audits of Cinema
Although reporting into ICT, still be expected to maintain a healthy relationship with the Complex Manager & Staff and be seen as part of the Cinema Complex Team

Day-to-Day Operations

Content Ingestion & Playlist Creations (Operations will be the backup for Ingestion and NOC for Playlists)
Building of Standees and Ad Hoc maintenance of minor Electrical Related Problems pertaining to Property & Facilities
Quality Assurance and uphold Perfect Presentation Standards in the Cinema Complex as prescribed by ICT Standards
Assurance of Automated Operations within Projection Booth
Assist with Installation of New Builds
Will be expected to perform Standby Duties & Work Overtime as per Operational Requirements



Knowledge of IT Hardware & Software
Knowledge of Digital Projection, Xenon Lamps & Sound
Knowledge of Digital Signage
Knowledge of AV Presentation Setup
Knowledge of Remote Administration Software
Good Understanding of Decommissioning of Equipment
Understanding of Project Plan & Deliverables
General understanding of Electrical Wiring & Electronic Circuitry
Ability to read and understand Technical Drawings & Datasheets
Knowledge & Ability to use Hand Tools and small Power Tools
Knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations
Knowledge & Understanding of relevant Company Policies, Processes & Procedures
