Job Purpose The Department of Human Settlements, Western Cape Government aims to employ two (2) suitably qualified and competent individuals to provide an effective and efficient records management service to the department in accordance with the provisions and compliance of the Provincial Archives and Records Management Act, 2005 (Act no. 3 of 2005). These posts are stationed in Cape Town.
Minimum Requirements Grade 12 (Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification).
Recommendation Completion of a Registry Clerk Course; Appropriate registry experience.
Key Performance Areas Applications of registry procedures; Maintenance of the filing system and records control schedule; Control of franking machine and remittance register; Application of the file tracking system.
Competencies A good understanding of the following: Provincial Archives and Records Service Act (Act 3 of 2005); Record keeping; Application of J-Track/File tracking system; Operating of a franking machine; Proven computer literacy in MS Office (Word, Access and Excel); Communication (written and verbal) skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape; Planning and organising skills; Must be dedicated, a team player, innovative and self- motivated.
Remuneration R 163 563 per annum (Salary Level 5)

Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
